Gathering of ITSBw Reservists 2021

It has been a while since I last penned my thoughts, largely due to the constraints imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, which left little to report.

On October 22, 2021, a significant meeting took place at the General-Fellgiebel-Kaserne in Pöcking, bringing together all reservists associated with the ITSBw (School of Information Technology of the Bundeswehr, formerly known as the Troop School of Signal Troops). I was fortunate to be invited to this informative gathering.

The journey commenced with an ICE train from Aschaffenburg to Munich, followed by a transfer to the S-Bahn, and concluding with a drive alongside several comrades.

Upon arrival, we began with an evening meal in the troop kitchen after completing the necessary registration and organizational tasks. This was followed by a presentation in a large lecture hall, where updates on current topics and focal points were shared. The evening concluded at the Maxhof restaurant, providing an opportunity for direct conversations among attendees.

There is mutual interest from both sides, and I am hopeful that the planning for my first reserve duty at the school will soon commence.

Due to the late hour, I was able to stay overnight in the barracks, occupying a room in a newly constructed accommodation block. The quarters were reminiscent of hotel rooms, a pleasant surprise for a military setting.

The following day, we took a bus to Starnberg, from where I returned home by train.
